This non-woven alginate and carboxylmethylcellulose fiber combination interacts with wound exudate to form a gel, providing for a moist healing environment. It reduces the potential for delicate peri-wound tissue damage. 12in rope, 20/case.

  • Fluid will not wick laterally
  • Easy dressing changes
  • Indications: pressure injuries, partial and full-thickness wounds, leg ulcers, diabetic ulcers, surgical wounds, donor sites, lacerations and abrasions, and first- and second-degree burns
  • Contraindications: third-degree burns, for use as a surgical sponge, dry wounds and patients with a known sensitivity to alginates

Question: Should the Maxorb be in direct contact with the wound or can you use an adapticnonadherentdressing first to prevent dressing from sticking to wound

This item may be in direct contact with the wound, it is meant for use to absorb drainage but can be inserted into the wound except third degree burns:

  • For moderate to heavily draining wounds

  • Fluid will not wick laterally
  • Easy dressing changes
  • Indications: pressure ulcers, partial and full-thickness wounds, leg ulcers, diabetic ulcers, surgical wounds, donor sites, lacerations and abrasions, and first and second-degree burns
  • Contraindications: third-degree burns, for use as a surgical sponge,dry wounds and patients with a known sensitivity to alginates
  • May be left in place for up to 5 days; Dressing change frequency will depend on amount of drainage
