Will Medicare pay for a wheelchair if a doctor prescribes it?

Thank you for your inquiry. A prescripion from a doctor is certainly neccessary.  However, Medicare may still reject the prescription if their criteria is not met.  We would recommend that you contact a durable medical equipment company in your area that deals with Medicare.  Based on their experience they may be able to tell you if Medicare will provide coverage based on your medical needs.

My mother recently passed (Nov 03) and she had a ShopRider by Pihslang electric scooter, rear wheel, aproximatley 2 years old, and never went out side, excellent condition. Thank you for your inquiry.  You may wish to engage the services of a contractor to build a rail of appropriate length and height.  Also, you need to make certain that the railing adequately anchored to provide the necessary support and stability.  You should be able to find business cards for handy-men in stores such as Home Depot or Lowes.  I hope this helps.

My mon had a strock 4 year ago and has la l/h and r/h arm and legs paralized.
