The item we have availaable that may suit your needs is called a stratasorb composite island dressing. It has four distint layers. The first layer protects the wound site. The second layer absorbs drainage. The third layer with a non woven backing and adhesive border securely holds the contact pad in place. Layer four, a semi occlusive, polyurethane film, helps deter external contaminents and maintain an optimal sanitary enviroment. My friend is a 50 yr old male, recovering from pneumonia and pulmonary failure. He is trached and currently ventilator dependent. His trach collar has caused a pressure ulcer around his trach, and it is very painful and at risk of infection. His caregivers say they don't have a solution to take the pressure off of the deteriorating tissue. Is there a "soft collar" or "gel collar" or any kind of trach equipment designed for this type of situation?

My father in law is handicapped, missing an arm, and cannot do laces on shoes or boots. We have found plenty of shoes with velco closures but cant find any work boots with velcro closures. Since he works on the farm, the shoes just dont cut it. Can you help us?
