Question
I got a result of "invalid due to glycolysis" on my glucose test. What does this mean and what causes it?Also, is there any cause for concern?

Answer

You have a lack of oxygen in your blood that pervents sugar development. Glycolysis is the sequence of reactions that converts glucose into pyruvate with the concomitant production of a relatively small amount of ATP. Glycolysis can be carried out anerobically (in the absence of oxygen) and is thus an especially important pathway for organisms that can ferment sugars. Many people have the same diagnosis.  You may want to consult with a microbologist for more information.

Question
I had lysis of adhesion removal on my small bowel intestines 2 months ago. The problem doesn't have anything to do with the pre op obstruction . What Im having issues with in the incision itself. I have a lot of abdominal cramping, squeezing, tightening, also I become lightheaded, dizzy and confused since the operation. My Ab wall becomes cold and I feel a clenching even when theres nothing in my GI tract . Could A Incision cause vascular/circulatory issues? I've had numerous colo rectal surgeies so I've been opened like a zip lock bag. Maybe the doctors didnt align the walls properly .I'm lost I addressed this post op with the surgeon ,but he said im no doing another sguery . I never implied to him or insinuated I would want one. Question
I am about to have surgery on my right foot, which then will be in a cast for about 6 weeks. I am 5'5" and weigh 107 lbs. and usually am very active. Crutches won't work because they really hurt my arm pits. Can you suggest something else, short of a wheelchair? Thank you!

Answer

Dear Margaet,

Thank you for the inquiry.  I would suggest two items. First, please look up Item #: 087DRV.  It is called a knee walker.  I don't know the dimensions of your cast.  If it is just your foot this will work, we just ask that you consult a physician before perchasing for approval. We also recommend a small wheelchair with leg extensions.

Question
I am interested in the Deluxe Static Air Mattress. Does your company sell the pump as well as the mattress? Does it require a pump which must stay on constantly? Or do you just pump it up once and then leave it alone?

Answer

Dear C.A. Rounsavall,

Thank you for the inquiry.  We do sell the an electric and hand pump.  The pump is not required to stay on constantly.  You just inflate the mattress and then seal the cap. You can set the firmness by how much air you put in.
