I have a veterinary student who mentioned that she has an allergic reaction to the sleeves of our disposal surgical gowns.Have you hear d of this? Is it due to ETO? Is there any disposable gowns that are considered hypoallergenic?Thank you, any help on this would be appreciated.Linda

Dear Ms. Trip:

We have never heard of an allergic reaction caused by disposable gowns.  Most of the these gowns are made from polypropolyne or polyethelin material.  We would not rule out that the reaction may have been caused by something else with which she came into contact during the procedure.  In the future, we would recommend wearing long sleeves to minimize the contact with the gown.
