Is this the best solution for my 91-year-old father-in-law to be able to get out of his chair and off his portable potty? He cannot do it by himself. Thanks

Answer

This will probably not work for you father unless he is able to pull up his own body weight.  Is there someone assisting him?  We need to know a bit more about his physical condition and his living arrnagements in order to make the appropriate recommendation.  Please contact us toll free at 877-706-4480 x 104 or ask for Gary.

Question
I am seeking an alternate source for catheters through Medicare. Would you suppy me with an estimate of what my out-of-pocket expense would be to provide me with 90 Coloplast #614 Catheters per month. My current supplier is charging medicare $6.72 per catheter. I believe that this price is extreme since the prices on the Internet for the same item vary between $2.50 to $4.50 per each. Medicare pays 80% of that cost, which still leaves me a large monthly expense $112.00. Can your company provide the same service at a lower out-of pocket expense.Charles Boettcher

Answer

Charles,

Unfortunately, we do not bill Medicare directly so the purchase of these items requires payment upfront.  Our cost to you for a quantity of 90 catheters would be $6.15 per catheter for a total purchase price of $553.50.  We will be able to extend free shipping to you on this order.

Question
Not sure what they are called but my Uncle has a special wrap that covers and protects his abdominal feeding tube. He can't seem to find a new clean one through the VA and got the one he has from Gunderson Hospital in LaCrosse WI but is being treated by the VA in Madison, WI; and they don't seem to know what he is talking about. Can you help us? Can we get them through a Home Health Care Facility? Thank You!

Answer

We have two items available that may be what you're looking for.

The first item is a Skin Barrier for use with Ostomies.  These are generally foam wafers that go around the stomas to prevent skin damage from movement.

The second item we have is an Ostomy Belt.  This item is worn around the torso at the location of the ostomy.

Question
I am looking for a bed and mattress for a small special needs child. She is 8 weighs 36 lbs and is 41in in length. She does not stand or roll over. Which bed and mattress do you think would be best? We do like the #e511nkm by Home-Medical Supplies & Equipment.

Answer

Dear Rosa,

Thank you for the inquiry. The bed you picked out is great but takes 8 weeks for delivery. We have the manual version shipping out within 3 days.  It does the same thing. I would recommend this bed because it is low to the ground and has safety rails.
